Preparing for an Academic Concern Meeting on Academic Misconduct
You have been invited to attend an Academic Concern meeting regarding academic misconduct, as the staff who marked your work have concerns about the authorship of your work. At this meeting you will be asked about the content of your work and your process in creating it.
You can read more about this type of meeting and possible outcomes on the University’s Academic Conduct page here: https://www.hallamstudentsunion.com/support/academic/article/6013/Academic-Misconduct/ and also on the SU’s webpage: https://www.hallamstudentsunion.com/news/article/6013/Academic-Misconduct/
You can prepare for this meeting by collecting evidence of the progress of your work including any research, past versions or drafts of your work, as well as re-familiarising yourself with the contents. You should be ready to fully engage in a discussion about your work.
Whilst it is not essential for an Academic Concern meeting, it might be helpful if you would like to write a statement explaining how you created the assignment and addressing the concerns above, as well as gathering any evidence such as drafts of the submission that help to show that you are the creator of the assignment, and how you went about writing it.
