I’ve been invited to an Academic Conduct Panel - what do I do?

Preparing for an Academic Conduct Panel

You have been referred to the Academic Conduct panel meeting regarding academic misconduct, as the staff who marked your work have concerns about the authorship of your work. You will not attend the panel yourself, but you will have been asked to provide a written response to the allegations. Make sure that you understand what you are accused of and ensure that you can demonstrate this in the response.

You can read more about this type of meeting and possible outcomes on the  University’s Academic Conduct page here: Academic Misconduct | SHU and also on the SU’s webpage: Academic Misconduct | Hallam Student's Union

We strongly encourage you to speak to The Students' Union Advice Centre who offer independent advice and can support you through the process. You can contact the team through the Ask us form on this webpage: Ask Us | Hallam Student's Union

Our advisers can support you with understanding the process and providing feedback on any draft response, to help make it as strong as possible. We can go through your allegation and evidence to help you put your strongest case forward in your response.

If you would like feedback on a draft version of your response, please make sure you send this to us in good time, so our advisers have an opportunity to respond ahead of your meeting.
