What can the Students’ Union Advice Centre help with?

If you have already taken a look at our online resources, and you need further assistance, please get in touch.

The Advice Centre provides self help information in the first instance. We aim to empower students to take their own action. If a student has tried to resolve an issue or needs further advice after reading our self help information we can provide further information or advice.

The Student’s Union Advice Centre is ready to provide you with independent and confidential advice covering a range of topics. The Advice team can help you to understand university policies and guide you through procedures. We are here to empower you to make the most of your time at university. We have a range of self help topics online which we strongly recommend you explore in the first instance: https://www.hallamstudentsunion.com/support/

Please be aware, the Advice Centre operates independent of the university. We are not involved in decision making by the university.

Some topics the Advice team can help you with include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Allegations of Academic Misconduct
  • Appealing a decision by the university
  • Complaints about the university
  • Issues with landlords and tenancy agreements

If you want to get in touch with the Advice centre, you can contact the advice team by completing the Ask Us form on the Student Union website: Ask Us | Hallam Student's Union.
