Steps in the process of raising a formal complaint about the university.
To submit a complaint you will need to complete the Student Concerns form which can be found on the university website here: https://www.shu.ac.uk/myhallam/university-life/university-rules-and-regulations/appeals-and-complaints/complaints/student-complaint-procedure
Once you have submitted your complaint, there are three stages to the complaints process:
- Triage - A preliminary assessment of the concern form to decide on the most appropriate way of responding
- Investigation (Complaint Stage 1) - Complaints will be referred to this stage when concerns cannot be quickly resolved during the triage process.
- Review (Complaint Stage 2) - Students may escalate their concerns to this stage on certain grounds if they remain dissatisfied with the response at Stage 1
